Rather than wait to download the whole kit and caboodle, it's much
less painful, especially if you're dealing with a slower modem,
to download audio or video files as you're listening to them. With
streaming technology, you can start watching or listening before
the entire file has arrived. Think television watching: The images
and sound come to you as you need them, versus renting a movie that
you can't see until you have all of it (a complex procedure that
involves peeling yourself off the couch, scraping together back
rental fees, and then navigating to the video store). |
