Java

Like the ideal date, Java is something you can take anywhere - Unix, Mac, and Windows operating systems have no problem running anything written using this coffee-inspired programming language. Mostly, Java is used to write small, focused programs (as opposed to sprawling panacean apps), which are called applets. Applets, when run through a Java-enabled browser, facilitate such Web fun as chat rooms, animation, gaming, live news feeds (like stock tickers), and more.
