Cursor
Depending
on what application you're using, a cursor or pointer can appear
as many things - an arrow, a blinking line or rectangle, a spinning
black-and-white circle or globe, a hand, a watch, a trotting dog,
a capital "I" - visual clues that tell you what the application
you're running is up to. You can move the cursor around the screen
by using the arrow keys, or by moving your mouse and then clicking
on the desired new locale. The location of the cursor indicates
where you are and what you're doing on the screen: selecting documents
or programs you want to launch, pulling down menus to execute a
command, typing or inserting text, and more.
