Attachment

Yes, just like with "real" mail, it is possible to attach documents to your email. Unfortunately, many email systems scramble attachments that are not simple text files. If the folks on the receiving end of your attachment-laden email are getting nothing but baby talk, then it's possible your email program just doesn't speak the same language as theirs. The key is to make sure that you're both using the same encoding protocol, which is the way your email program condenses files into a sendable size. There are lots of encoding protocols to choose from, but most of the time people use MIME, BINHex, or UUencode. If matching up your encoding protocols fails to do the trick, another thing to try is renaming the attached document using a PC-friendly eight-dot-three name such as "8letters.doc." And if that fails, you might want to go old-school: Put the file on a disk and FedEx the cursed thing.
